An Iranian writer based in the UK reflects on the inhumanity of the Gaza War.

Gaza gazes graciously,
At the lobotomised lawless,
And it’s hoping helplessly,
For caring and some fairness.
Resisting fearlessly,
In the face of all malice,
Asking bravely,
to live freely or to cease.
Crying constantly,
For its people’s blood spilt,
But shining brightly,
For Palestine’s spirit.
Shouting tirelessly,
‘We are also humans’
But failing dangerously,
With not much humanity left.
I am now asking us,
Double-standards up to when?
Are we going to stop the war,
Or war surely stops us then.
